School Vision & Mission
The vision that animates St John the Apostle Primary School is captured in our motto United in love, truth and courage
It’s a goal that speaks of working together as disciples of Jesus to make our school, our community and our world a place where God's love is experienced by all.
Our Mission
We are on earth the heart of God.
Our Vision
To be united in love, truth and courage
Our Values
Faith
As we follow in the footsteps of Saint John the Apostle, we strive to develop sensitivity to values derived from Catholic social teaching. We promote awareness of injustice in society and encourage students and staff to participate in action for justice. Our school endeavours to nurture an attitude of hope based on Christian realism in relation to the struggle for justice in the world.
Unity
We seek to bring faith, culture and life into harmony. We are united as a community as the People of God. We promote community through the development of positive relationships and service of others. Bringing a variety of gifts, talents and backgrounds we gather for worship, hear and proclaim the Word of God and witness through lives and service to others.
Love
As a school in a Missionaries of the Sacred Heart Parish, we acknowledge that our love of God calls us to love of self, love of neighbour, love of work, love of learning, and love of our school in the way we take pride in all that we do.
Truth
We strive to design, review and develop learning areas of the curriculum to promote critical thinking, sound reasoning and academic excellence. We aim to nurture a genuine search for truth in our students as they engage with the diverse learning areas of the curriculum, each other and the world around them.
Courage
We seek to face life with generosity, a willingness and open-heartedness, to have faith and hope in the future. We strive to be people, who are brave, bold, prepared to face the challenges of living as a Christian.
Stewardship
We strive to develop a sense of the sacred for our school and all of God’s creation. We aim to nurture a sense of awe, wonder and respect for creation seeking to act in ways that are ecologically sustainable.
Respect
We believe all people are made in the image and likeness of God, therefore we seek to support everyone's worth and dignity, regardless of background, abilities or beliefs. We strive to always be aware of and honour others' rights and feelings, demonstrate concern for the growth and development of others and value the guidance of supportive adult and student leaders.
