Communication
We use a variety of communication methods at St John the Apostle. We like to make communication easy and we're always looking for ways to support families in being engaged with their child's learning and and the school community.
Seesaw
Seesaw is a digital student portfolio that gives students an audience for their work! It gives families a window into what's going on every day in their child's classroom. Our Kindergarten to Year 3 teachers use the app Seesaw to share classroom learning experiences with families. They will take photographs of children and samples of their work to share with individual families and with class communities.
Connecting to Seesaw is easy. Follow the instructions below to help connect your child's Seesaw account.
Compass
Compass is used across all of our Catholic schools as the primary tool for communication between schools and home. Through Compass the school can communicate what is happening in the school, share the school calendar and parents can email their child's teacher, book parent-teacher interviews, register their child's absence and consent to excursions. Compass is available as an app and also on a desktop. You can fin out more about how to use Compass by downloading the following information.
Newsletter
Our Newsletter is produced and shared every Friday and contains a wide variety of information including news from the Principal, school calendar updates, names of students who have received awards, explanations of teaching & learning initiatives, reflections of Catholic Life, news from the Parish and community notices. T o access the Newsletter a link is sent out to parents each Friday through Compass. It is also archived here on this school site for future reference.
Social Media
We are growing our social media presence to help connect with the local community. We like to acknowledge the great work of other schools and organisations and also share our own story. We have a Facebook page and beginning to connect further with others through Instagram.
