Catholic Life & Reflection
Last week I spent the day planning our Christmas and Advent units with our teachers. It was a really exciting day and I loved having time to talk to teachers about their classes and what they want for them.
Christmas is a time of year for schools that is ridiculously busy. We can get very caught up and time slips away. Today we all talked about setting achievable, creative and engaging ways to deepen the children’s understanding of Christmas. Doing it now gives us plenty of time to organise and prepare.
As parents the build up to Christmas is extraordinarily busy too. What can you do now to prepare and be ready for the Advent season.
When we were planning we all kept coming back to simple but effective. It doesn’t have to be complex. Reading the scripture, either Infancy Narrative could be something you organise and get ready for now. Mark it in your bible, print it off from bible gateway https://www.biblegateway.com/ or find a great nativity story.
It is not about having all the answers or being perfect, but setting aside some time and being ready are a good start.
