Catholic Life & Reflection
When I get terribly tired I do this strange thing. I ask for more; more work, more responsibility. I am curious as to why I do it. Maybe because if I need help at busy times everyone else does too and I am big on helping and being useful. It seems at odds with what my needs are at the time.
I have noticed that not everyone responds this way when they are in need. Some people are the opposite, oblivious to the needs of others when they are in such dire need themselves.
No judgement here, believe me, just curiosity. Right now in our school community we all need a rest. Our minds, our bodies, our spirits, kids, parents and teachers.
I am looking forward to enjoying the warmer weather and taking things a little slower. I am not great at stopping altogether but I do have a couple of good books on my bedside table I am dying to read. Floriade beckons and some gardening at home too.
Galatians 6:2 New International Version (NIV)
2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
Rest well. Don’t forget to help those who need it but not to your own detriment.
God bless.
