Belconnen Zone Athletics:
A fortnight ago, students from St John the Apostle Primary School competed at the Belconnen Zone Athletics Carnival held at the Australian Institute of Sport. All of the students competed to the best of their ability and represented our school with pride. Well done to all students who competed on the day! A special mention to Sasha (6B) and Samsara (4M) Rauraa who placed first or second in most/all of their events. Well done to Samsara who also broke a meet record!
Information regarding the School Sport ACT finals has been handed out to those students who qualified this week.

St John’s Weekend Netball:
Twelve months ago, this group of players were competing in a lower division building basic skills and really developing as a team. Tomorrow, they compete in the major semi-final in Division 2 (junior) of the North Canberra Netball Competition. SJA Maroon have placed 1st after the regular season and take on Rosary Primary School at 1030am at Lyneham netball courts. If you can make it down to support the boys and girls, that would be great!
Good luck to SJA Maroon and any other students competing in Netball finals this weekend.

Learning to Lead (Year 6) Student. Representative Council (SRC) competitive games:
Every Friday, students from the S.R.C have been running competitive games at lunch time for students in Years 3-6. Year 6 have been helping students engage in a range of sports in modified games. Students are encouraged to come down on a Friday and have a run around, have some fun and showcase some of their skills. Well done to the Peer Leaders of the S.R.C and also the Year 6 leaders who give up their time to create this experience for students in our school.
