Dear St John the Apostle Primary School Community,
Wow. You are all amazing!
I realised this on Wednesday when every child and staff member was dressed up at our Book Week Parade. Thank you to all of our parents for helping your child to participate by organising fabulous costumes. Thank you also to our staff who took the time to join in the fun and dress up.
Thank you to Mrs Kate MacDonald and Mrs Georgina Jaram for coordinating the Book Week activities this week. They were enthusiastically assisted by Mrs Melanie Monaghan and Mrs Ellen Fletcher.
I'd like to offer a big thank you to Mrs Vanessa Hallaj for her organisation of the Book Fair. The Book Fair provides an excellent opportunity for students to purchase good quality literature. We also receive reward points for each purchase that enable us to source more literature for our own library. Students benefit twice!
We finished Book Week today with the staff play. Thank you to the staff and students who put aside their inhibitions to entertain our students.
We love Book week.
Athletics
Thank you to all the parents that enabled their child to attend and participate in the Belconnen Athletics Carnival on Monday. Congratulations to our team for their excellent participation.
Excursions to Geoscience Australia
Recently both our Year 6 and 4 students participated in excursions to Geoscience Australia. We received very positive feedback about their participation and behaviour. Well done to both the students and teachers for their respectful engagement in these learning opportunities beyond the classroom.
Is your child going to be away for 10 days or more?
If your child will be away from school for 10 consecutive days or more due to something like a family holiday you need to complete a form requesting approval from the school. Under the Education Act 2014 it is compulsory for all children to be present at school and we are required to report student attendance to the Department of Education and Training twice yearly. Forms are available from Office.SJAPS@cg.catholic.edu.au or just pop in to see Leanne.
