Principal's Corner
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to term 4! It has been so lovely to welcome our students back with some sun and warmer days. Their smiles and giggles as they enter the gates this week have been so delightful to witness. School is indeed a really happy place for our SJA learners.
I share with you at the beginning of Term 4, The Beatitudes. A lovely prayer to remind us to practice gratitude, to turn to our God for comfort, for protection, for love and for support. I encourage you to pray this prayer as a family.
Term 4 is an exciting and busy term. We have so much to work through and celebrate and we of course have 2026 to look towards. We warmly welcome Penny Vanzwol to SJA as the Religious Education Coordinator for Term 4. Ms Vanzwol has been busy turning the Chapel into a sacred space, helping our Staff and Students learn more our Mary, especially the Rosary and ensuring our upcoming family and school events will be something special to cherish.
We are still working on our staffing for 2026, with our school growing, we will welcome new members joining our SJA team. I hope to be able to share this with you in the coming weeks.
Blessings for your weekend.
Jo Reed
Principal
Attendance
Being at school is the best start to increasing and improve student engagement and learning. This term we will continue attendance communications with families where attendance at school is low. Our teachers ensure that every minute of every day, counts! At SJA, we want to achieve a whole school reward for attendance this term.
Late arrival to school
If your child arrives later than 9.00am to school please ensure you walk them into the front foyer and sign them in. We really encourage all families to try and be at school by 8:40am as this reduces your child anxiety and ensures a smoother start to their school day. Please don’t ride bikes or scooters to school if you are very late as this causes more issues with the locking of bike gates.
Early pick-up
There are an increasing number of families that regularly pick up their children before the end of the school day from the front office. We are unable to call students over the PA Systems or phone teachers as this is interrupting the teacher during precious learning time. Every minute of every single day counts. Pre-arranged or emergency pick-up only please from 2.20pm onward.
