Religious Education
Today the school celebrated Father’s Day. Our day started with a short liturgy at morning assembly. Fathers, grandfathers and all those who fill that paternal role in the lives of our children were invited to join us!
In the afternoon, we had a BBQ to celebrate the contribution that our dads make to the lives of the school!
As well as this, in a long-awaited event, on the 7th of September, the Holy Father Pope Leo XIV, will canonise Blessed Carlo Acutis, making him the first millennial saint. Blessed Carlo Acutis will be canonised alongside Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati. Both of these young men are outstanding examples for our students (and ourselves) of the massive impact our faith can have on those around us.
I would strongly encourage you to read about Blessed (soon to be Saint) Carlo Acutis! He is an incredible example of devotion, and it is very humbling to see how the faith can be lived out by someone so young. It is also incredible to see the depth of the impact that his life has had on those around him. Please take some time to read about him, and talk with your children as well, (St) Carlo Actutis truly shows that we are never too young to make a difference! What a fantastic message for the young people in our school!

I hope that you and your family have a blessed weekend!

Prayer for the Intercession of Carlo Acutis
Oh God, Our Father,
Thank you for giving us Carlo,
a life example for the young
and a message of love for everyone.
You made him become enamoured with
Your Son Jesus, Making of the Eucharist
his “Highway to Heaven”.
You gave him Mary, as a most loving Mother,
And, with the Rosary, you made him
a poet of her tenderness. Receive his prayer for us.
Above all, gaze upon the poor,
whom he loved and helped.
Grant for me too, by his intercession,
the grace that I need ...
And make our joy fulfilled,
placing Carlo among the Saints
of your Church, so that his smile
may shine again for us in the glory of your name.
Amen
