Catholic Life and Reflection
Community is what we are all about. It is simple really. It is all about belonging. On the rare occasion that a student has had to leave the classroom to be supported for positive behaviour the practice is usually to ask permission to return. The teacher's response is always “Of course, this is where you belong!”
We hope as the year has begun you feel like part of our community. Having a strong sense of belonging is so important to the mental and spiritual health of our students. This week is full of events that help build a sense of belonging. The Swimming Carnival and our Opening Mass at the Church, as well as the fete last week, all contribute. Teachers are hard at work creating a little community in their own classroom and helping students navigate the wider school setting too.
We are purposeful in our creation of community. We want to show students and families how important it is. In the past few years we have shown just how strong we can be. Now we get to celebrate together and continue growing this incredible, loving community.
What a blessing!
