Catholic Life and Reflection

What students are learning about

The Rosary

Year Two have been using their Rosary beads during October. They enjoyed making them and have taken them home to share the Rosary with their families.

Catholic Mission

Today we wore crazy socks to raise money for Catholic Mission. They do extraordinary work in many countries across the globe. You can read more about their work here. https://www.catholicmission.org.au/

As the world witnesses the ongoing devastation of famine and drought in the Horn of Africa, we are responding the call of Pope Francis, to be a witness of love in the world. Join us this World Mission Month and walk hand-in-hand with the people of Ethiopia and local church communities towards providing life-changing opportunities to those in most need.

Catholic Life and Reflection

The crucifix is a symbol universally known.  A few years ago, I visited another school in our Archdiocese and the front office had a display of crucifix’s from around the world. Each time a family or staff member went on a trip they would buy one and bring it back for the school. I loved the idea so much that in 2019 I began our collection.

Who knew that in the following few years no one would go anywhere!

So, a big shout out to two staff members who have travelled the world recently. Miss O went home to Germany for a fleeting visit with family and bought a beautiful porcelain cross that says 'The tree of life grows, blossoms and thrives. That is how we shall move though life and always have steady feet.'

The Love family went to Fiji and came back with a simple hand hewn wooden cross. A perfect reminder of the simple and perfect love of Jesus.

You can read more about the crucifix in this article.

If you are planning a trip in Australia or abroad, I would love a cross to add to our collection.  Or even a hand made one maybe?
