Principal's Corner
Dear St John the Apostle families,
Happy Mothers Day to all the women in our community who care for children and families. Thank you for the wonderful way you model how to love others and the world around them, how life is about learning and growing, how to be passionate about something worthwhile, how to fall down and get back up again, how to receive appreciation with humility. It's the smallest and simplest ways you love them, every day, that means they come to school sharing that care and love with others. Thank you. I hope you have a lovely day this Sunday.
After isolating with COVID for the beginning of term it was just fantastic to return to school on Wednesday and to see how well all sudents had settled in. We have returned to some of our old practices, such as morning assembly, as if we had never stopped. Our students have been amazing.
Thank you to the Year 2 classes who led us through a thoughtful ANZAC Day commemoration on Monday. Their leadership enabled every student in the school to understand a little more the valuable service of defence personnel in our past and present.
Student Absences
Each day we need to account for all absences across the school and we must record an explanation for a student absence. We really appreciate when parents and carers email or phone to let us know their child will be absent. It would help us enormously if the absence could also be entered on COMPASS as soon as possible as well. It means that we won't need to chase up and contact families for an explanation.
Enrolment Period
It's our enrolment period for 2023. During May we accept enrolment applications for Kindergarten the following year. If you have a younger sibling that will attend Kindergarten in 2023 please remember to complete and enrolment application by Friday 27 May. You can find a link to the enrolment application on our school website.
Have a wonderful weekend.
