Award-winning children’s author Chris Collin is visiting our school on Wednesday, 20 October with a Live Virtual Author Visit! Chris is the author, singer and narrator of musical picture books, including the wild and wacky Funky Chicken series and A Bug Called Doug! Plus, there’s an awesome new environmentally-themed book available now – The Things You Can Do with Blue Whale Poo! Yes, believe it or not, whale poop is crucial to healthy oceans and rivers!

Chris’ presentations and workshops are educational, great fun and highly interactive! His philosophy is simple; encourage our kids to read and write by making reading fun! The presentation includes storytelling, puppets, video slideshows, singing and dancing! Chris will explain how a picture book is created. Some of our students will become illustrators for a day and may even get started on their very own creative project!

• Funky Chicken: Chooks in Space is in the Qld and Victorian Premiers Challenge Book List and was voted WINNER in the 2016 Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Awards!
• His first book Funky Chicken: A Bushy Tale of Crocs and Chooks is in the Premiers Reading Challenge Book List in Qld, NSW and Victoria and was shortlisted in the 2014 Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Awards.
• A Bug Called Doug is in the Qld Premiers Reading Challenge Book List.
• Funky Chicken Mission Incrocible is in the Premiers Reading Challenge Book List in NSW and Victoria.
