Teaching & Learning and Inclusion
Online Reading Assessments
Thank you to all of the parents and carers who have supported their children with the online reading assessments. We appreciate you being available to be with your child while they complete their one-to-one reading assessment with their teacher.
The data we are collecting from these assessments is very valuable for a number of reasons:
- We can see what your child has retained during remote learning.
- We can assess their growth and achievement in reading and comprehension.
- We have the opportunity for a one-to-one session. This has been difficult during remote learning (from what I have heard so far the students are enjoying this opportunity with their teachers).
- We will have a good understanding of where each child is up to with their reading for return to onsite learning and provide the appropriate strategies for students from the moment they return onsite.
If you have any questions about the assessments, please do not hesitate to contact your child's classroom teacher or myself.
Inclusion Meetings (Week 4 - Students in Years 3, 4 and 5)
All of our Inclusion Assistants will be on site from the beginning of Week 4. Unfortunately this means that in Week 4, Years 3, 4 and 5 students will not have online Inclusion Meetings. If you are concerned about your child during this time, please do not hesitate to contact me and we will work out alternative supports.
