Dear St John the Apostle families,

Happy Holidays!

This term has been the first term this year that we have spent the entire term at school, onsite. It has been fantastic, but all of the kids and staff are definitely ready for a holiday!

While I was narrating the End of Term Awards, I was struck by the many students who displayed a positive attitude and have grown in their learning. Not everyone recieved an award but I know there are many more students who could!

Today has been a wonderful way to end the term. I have spent the day in the hall watching movies and eating snacks with over 150 students across the school. It is always nice to celebrate the end of the term with the students who have consistently shown respect to themselves, others and the environment.

Thank you to everyone for following COVID safe practices this term and ensuring that everyone is safe in our community. We do miss having parents and other members of the community come into our school and be a part of our celebrations. We are continuing to come up with different ways to involve the wider community in what we are doing at school!

It is with pleasure that I announce that the following teachers received positions at St John’s for 2021.

  • Allison Lock
  • Serae Love
  • Ellen Fletcher
  • Sarah Collins

All of these wonderful teachers have had a positive impact on our community and we are excited to have them continue at our school. I would like to thank each one of these teachers for their contribution to the students and families at our school. We are very lucky to have them as teachers in our community!

I would also like to announce that Rebecca Neiberding (currently a teacher at St Thomas Aquinas) will be joining us on staff next year. We are very excited to have her as part of our staff and school community.

I sincerely wish everyone the most restful of holidays for the next two weeks.
